Refilling Instructions Refilling the BC-20 & BC-23 Cartridges Locate the vent /fill hole on the top of the cartridge. SEE DIAGRAM use the push pin to remove the round plug. Push the pin into one of the holes in the plug and pull out the plug. Using the syringe draw 10cc of ink from the bottle. Insert the needle through the vent hole into the cartridge, as far as possible. Pull the needle back ever so slightly. Slowly inject the ink. Pause every once in a while to allow the sponge to soak up the ink. Draw an additional 10 cc of ink and inject it into the cartridge. Replace the fill hole plug. Let cartridge sit printhead down for about 15 minutes. Install back into your printer and perform a print test. WARNING : After a few refills your cartridge may not take the full 15 cc of ink. If the ink bubbles out of the vent hole, stop injecting. Let cartridge stand, with the print head down, for 30 minutes in a plastic container or tray. This is to make sure that the cartridge does not leak and to allow the internal sponge to absorb the ink evenly.TROUBLESHOOTING: If your cartridge won’t print, or the printout has a white streak, then your print nozzles may be clogged. To unclog the nozzles, soak the print head in a solution of water and bleach for 30 minutes. After soaking blow through the vent hole with your mouth and force some ink through the print head. Use some paper towels to catch the ink that drips out. Install in printer and perform head cleaning function.
